Employees at the Rose & Womble Realty Co. office in Suffolk participated in the Rose & Womble Foundation’s 21st Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Brigade by raising more than $700 to purchase and deliver 86 dinners to families throughout Suffolk.

“Our office had about 30 people involved in this year’s brigade, starting with the crew that made the calls and then the crew that tied the tags on the bags,” said Suffolk Realtor and organizer Christina Kreutter.

This was Kreutter’s eighth year organizing the Suffolk office’s deliveries and fundraising.

Rose & Womble staff members spent the morning of Nov. 21 sorting through canned goods, lists and turkeys to ensure the bags were filled. The office also provided additional nonperishable food items to give to larger families in need.

“On the actual day we have an assembly crew and then we send nine cars out with at least two people in them to deliver. Our office delivered 86 baskets this year. This was up from 65 last year,” Kreutter stated in a release about the effort.

“The Turkey Brigade … is one of my favorite things we do as an office and company. The people in the Harbour View office are the most caring and generous people I know, and it warms my heart that they give of themselves and their time to those that are in need. This event puts life into perspective for all of us, as it reminds us to be thankful for what we do have and for the people in our lives.”
